Gizmo - Adopted

Gizmo is a sweet senior looking for a cozy retirement home where he can be the apple of his new family’s eye! His former family described him as playful, toy-loving, and smart—he knows tricks—but he’s equally happy relaxing as a couch potato. Gizmo loves being near his people while still enjoying some independence, and he has done well with young children and small dogs. In foster homes, he proved to be house trained, cuddly, affectionate, and deeply attached to his chosen people. He loves tug-of-war, dismantling stuffies, and sleeping beside his humans at night, though he’ll do best in a home without cats.

Shelter volunteers say Gizmo is a social sweetheart who much prefers exploring the outdoors with his friends to being cooped up in his kennel. He’s easy to leash, walks nicely once outside, and especially enjoyed leisurely walks around the lake. Although he can be stressed in his kennel, he relaxes and becomes a happy, well-behaved companion once he’s out. Gizmo has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. If stubby legs, an adorable white muzzle, and a loving senior soul are your weakness, Gizmo would love to meet you!
